hp photosmart c309 - wont align or print color

HP Recommended

I thought my color cartridges were low so I went out and bought new ones and installed them. The printer detected them and said they were full. However, it won't print anything in color, just black. I also can't seem to get the cartridges to align which may be the problem?

 

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull

the power cord from the printer then from the

wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall

and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power up’

and restore the printer to a known good

condition (if it is possible). No user settings are

lost with a ‘hard reset’.

 

This ‘Hard Reset’ is one of the most powerful

tools to use when the printer hardware is not

functioning properly!

Tried doing a hard reset but it didn't work unfortunately. 😞

my printer also reads the ink cartridges but fails to print color... even after hard reset. which generated a rather terse admonishment not to do that.
