hp photosmart c4200. difficulty setting up my printer to my new iMAC.

4/22/14

Hi,

I desperately need help with setting up my printer to my new iMAC.

I have been unsuccessful and get frustrated easily...  Smiley Sad

I have an HP Photosmart C4200.

I just purchased a new iMAC that is and OSX 10.9.3

I have looked on line thru HP to see if I could find a driver to download...I don't know if that is what I need.

There was not a driver for the C4200

What to do??

Thank You....Hoping someone can help.

It would be nice if HP had someone to speak to personally

Sharon

Re: hp photosmart c4200. difficulty setting up my printer to my new iMAC.

Hello sholkey,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

Sorry to hear about the hard times trying to install the Photosmart C4200 series All-in-One. I was able to confirm that this printer does not have a HP full feature and driver to install. However, it has an equivalent driver for scanning and printer available from Apple.

To install this printer on 10.9 you will need to first install this driver package from the Apple website: HP Printer Drivers v.2.16.1 for OS X.

Once this is installed you will need to connect the USB cable and the Mac should do the rest. Let me know if this has helped.

Cheers,
