i uninstalled printer as per instructions for "parsing error."..now can't install

HP Recommended

My printer is a PhotosmartPlus B209a-m     I was unable to print some items from my Win 7 HP computer and when this happened I got the message..parsing error in file c:/program files\hp\digital imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml. I uninstalled as instructed by this forum by opening the util in the CD drive. Then opening CCCand running the L4 uninstall. exe. and now cann't get the printer to reinstall. As the disc is ready to install I get the message "this file cannot be accessed by the system."

Hello oakhill,

Have you tried downloading and installing the software off of  the HP website?

Software & Driver Downloads - HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer - B209a

This should also help ensure you have the best drivers available for your printer using Windows 7.

Thanks for replying.  I have tried that possible solution without success.  I get the same results.."This file can not be accessed by system".  The banner says:  f"C:Program files\HP\{B2DAB009-8236-48AO-AD7F-E940F5AB1578\gup\aut....

When attempting to get the printer (Photosmartplus B209a-m) the drivers required I have received the message NO Drivers found.  At one point (can't remember where) I found a driver but it said manufacturer couldn't be verified and installing could harm computer.

I would be very grateful for any guidance to solve this problem.

Hello oakhill,

If you get a file can not be accessed message then this is usually caused by one of two things

1. You have insufficient rights to install on the computer or

2. The software was not completely uninstalled from the computer before attempting to reinstall.

If you have sufficient rights to install on the computer then verify you have completely uinstalled all the HP printer software (even look in that directory to see if that file still exists) then redownload the software from the website again.

I have sufficient rights to install.  I cannot find any evidence of the printer still on the computer.

Another problem, which may be related, is the message I receive when installing my embroidery machine software.  The basic version of Corel Draw is included in the program, before it is to install the message:"xml file failed to load"  A following window bannered Corel Draw says error 4.  I can't find anything about an error 4 and Corel Draw only relates to paying consumers.  The Art section using corel draw does not work.  The embroidery tech says it is not their problem.

It is certainly my problem and I am at a loss.

Hello oakhill

Check out the following thread. I seem to have resolved at least one person's parsing error. You may have used the CD in your previous attempt, try downloading it and following the second paragraph on Post 4.

Re: parsing error in file c:\program files\hp\digital imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml

As HardBeatz mentioned you may also be having some form a permissions error. Is there more to the banner you described "C:\Program files\HP\{B2DAB009-8236-48AO-AD7F-E940F5AB1578\gup\aut...."?

A screenshot would be helpful.
