Hi,
Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.

Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Open the Setup folder.
Locate the usbready.exe file and rename it into usbready.old.exe
Browse back to the main extraction folder (the folders who starts with 7z) and launch the Setup.exe file.

Now follow the installation and check for any difference.

Shlomi

I'm trying to install the PS_AIO_07_C410_140_408-5.exe file wich is the latest driver for the HP C410b. The temp folder stays empty during install process. Are there any other solutions?

Hi,

Run PS_AIO_07_C410_140_408-5.exe again and check the %temp% folder, it should not be empty.

If it is empty use any software such as Winrar to extract the installation folder, right click it and select Extract to..., then open the extracted folder and follow the steps.

Is it possible to extract the exe file manually (which program) because the exe file leaves no files in the temp folder. Maybe it does if I can extract the files manually and then remove the USBready file you mentioned. Thanks for your help.

Deleting or renaming USBReady.exe is not a solution that always works.  With the latest software from  the HP web site, the USBReady program is installed and ran during the installation, prohibiting you from deleting it before it crashes the installation.

HP software engineers have out-foxed us again and made perfectly good and relative new printers obsolete & non-functional through bugging their software.

This USBReady has been a very well documented problem, and instead of fixing it, HP just took away the work around solution.
