Sorry, meant to reply sooner. In the end I installed a powerline adapter near the printer and ran a short ethernet cable to it. The problem has not happened since, pretty much confirming to me that the wireless/power management system on the printer is faulty.

My m130nw loses the abiility to connect and must be restarted, apparently after shutdown timeout.

 

Display shows sleep mode.  Pressing 'OK' appears to clear sleep mode, and the display shows expected IP address, but m130nw does not respond to pings and admin web page can not be loaded from displayed IP.

 

Most critically, the printer does not respond to ARP requests.

 

Printer is always assigned the same IP by the Wi-fi router via DHCP.

 

DHCP least time is 1 hour.  Printer shutdown timeout is 4 hours.  Clients are Macs.

 

Only connection to the printer is wireless.

 

I also suspect that the m130nw wireless/power management is faulty.
