Hey there! @Farbers, Welcome to HP forums

I understand your printer goes to sleep and you are unable to receive faxes.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Do you get any fax error on your printer?

What type of connection do you have?

Here's how to adjust the private receive fax setting:

Touch Fax Setup
Touch Advanced Setup
Arrow down and select Private Receive
Turn this feature off.
You can also adjust the Fax Resolution (under the same Advanced Setup menu) to Normal (which is the lowest setting). Additionally, it wouldn't hurt to configure the Rings to Answer setting (under Fax Setup/Basic Setup) to pick up before your voicemail.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot fax error with your printer.

I'll watch your reply!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
