my HP7510 printer does not automatically feed the paper

i got a HP 7510 printer for christmas- has been great! now it won't feed the paper automatically. it also says that there is no paper yet the paper rack if full. If i push the paper back as the printer makes it's initial sounds, it will print, but then wants to take 2 -3 pages at a time.  so i can't print remotely as i had been able to do. i have to stand over it to push in the paper. i have done various scans, printer, ink, etc. and all is well. it just won't automatically feed the paper.
