I have a new HP Deskjet 3630 and it does the same - prints the test page most times it's turned on. This is a waste of ink and paper. I have completed the instructions once but I'm not doing this every time I use the printer! There must be a way to bypass the alignment process if I decide the printer is working OK? Otherwise I'll have to send the printer back for a refund!

HP needs to use the installed tools software to control the status monitoring and remedial process instead of the printer. I'm using Windows 10 BTW but the printer firmware is the problem not the OS.

Thanks in advance

Hi @blue784,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that your HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer keeps printing the alignment page every time it is powered on.

This issue could occur if the cartridge alignment is not complete or the firmware may not be updated.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link to update the firmware: Firmware Update

You may also check the link: Alignment failed or Alignment Unsuccessful error

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Thanks for the link but my printer has firmware version SWP2FN1629AR - that's the same as your update is it not?
