not printing a clear picture

you cannot see the details of the picture , the colors are not clear. if its a black coat it comes out purple with little squares

Have you tried printing with a different ink cartridge?

Try making a copy from your printer and check if the issue persists.

Try printing from a different application and check if it helps.

Please try the steps recommended below.

Turn on the printer, and then load plain paper into the input tray.
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
Depending on your version of OS X, click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
In the Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners window, select your printer, and then click Options & Supplies.
Click Utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.
HP Utility opens.
Click Clean Back of Page Smear .
Click Clean, and then click OK.
The printer feeds one page slowly. The printer might make some noise for approximately one minute.
Wait until the page is out of the printer before you remove it.
