Hi i have a brand new HP officejet 3831 all in one printer, using for the first time today although i set up a couple of days ago...anyway Ive just spent the last 5 hours to try and get it to print via wireless from my laptop which is running windows 10!!

i have had  the following messages

Intervention needed...
Assistance needed
paper jam (which there was not)..

so far ive installed and reinstalled various times both from the cd that came with and the software online via hp..
updated drivers
cleared printing spools
reset both printer and computer ( yes ive unplugged it from mains and removed power leads as suggested)
tried setting up the printer on AirPrint via chrome which also failed
done many of the hp doctor scans and fixes ect

it will print if i send remotely via my android phone and actually printed 1 copy of something after a completely reset but that's been it im at my wits end with it...

@Leigh83biss,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to connect your HP OfficeJet 3831 All-in-One Printer on the wireless network.

This issue could occur if the wireless setup is not correct.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Wireless Printer Setup

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
