OfficeJet 6950 P4C78A

During installation stage, the printer stopped giving this message:

"officejet 6950 there is a problem with the printhead" without any other code.

What I tried to solve (without results):

1) Reset the printer, as described in HP site

2) Change color caartridges

Greetings @Tamburini

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are getting an error related to the printhead on your printer, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you using genuine HP ink?

Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable, update the firmware on your printer by downloading it from www.hp.com/drivers as suggested in Step 5 in this HP Article

If the issue persists, please contact our phone support for the service options available for your printer.

Keep me posted.

Sorry, but 6950 doesn't have a USB link.

Hello, @Tamburini

I see that you were interacting with @Chimney_83. I'd like to jump in with a suggestion!

USB is the recommended way to update the printer firmware. But, you can also perform the update if you are connected via Wireless.

If the printer is not connected at all, then make sure to perform all the steps listed here: http://hp.care/2qS2vaE

If the issue persists, then I'd suggest you contact the HP phone support for further repair options. Assuming the printer is still under warranty, all the replacement charges will be covered.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help!

Good luck 🙂

HP Phone Support, after some tests, said me to change the printer with a new one.

Hello, @Tamburini

Considering the issue, I would say that's the best option.

If the printer is under warranty, all the replacement cost would be covered.

Let me know if you need any further assistance!

Have a great day 🙂
