printer message says, "optical photoconductor will need to be replaced soon".

I have a HP color laserJet 2840. I am getting the message that my "optical photoconductor will need to be replaced soon." The message is not on my printer window but on my printer info that I pulled up on my computer.

Re: printer message says, "optical photoconductor will need to be replaced soon".

I have the same problem with my Color Laserjet 2500. Although the words "optical photoconductor" do not exist in the printer's manual, I just discovered that the imaging drum is also called the optical photoconductor. I hope that's helpful.
