i have a printing shortcut set for printing black and white only. on any other hp printer it moves the saved printer shortcut to the second position, which makes it easy to highlight. now on this laser printer it moves the shortcut to the last of the list, so i have to scroll down to get to it.
how do i get the shortcut to list the second position on the list?

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand you want to change printer shortcut priority,
Are you referring to the shortcut priority in the printer control panel or windows?
Have you attempted any steps of your own before posting in the forums?
And if you are referring to windows, Please follow the below steps:
- Click on the Pearl Icon (Start) and choose Devices and Printers
- Double click on your printer's icon to open the HP Center
- Under Printer, Actions click on the Customize your Printer link
- Click on the Advanced Tab
- Click on the Printing Defaults button (lower left corner)
- If you haven't done so already, create a custom Shortcut by modifying one of HP's defaults and then choose Save As
- Choose your Shortcut in the list and then press the Apply button
- Press the OK button and you will return to the HP Center
- Close the HP Center (X in top right corner)
If the program you're printing from is currently open (Photoshop in my case) the default print settings will NOT change until you restart the program.
Restart your program (Web browser, Photoshop, Paint etc.) and now your printing defaults should be updated to use your custom shortcut as the default.
Let me know how that pans out,
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
