Solved!

printer shows as fax only

HP Recommended
OfficeJet Pro 8625
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The printer status indicates that it is setup.  I am able to print from my laptop (WiFi) but not from my desktop (WifI).

All print jobe go into que for the fax, not print.

Hi,

Please install software and driver for your printer on your desktop machine first.

Regards.

As I mentioned, the laptop is printing correctly: software is installed there. I can print HP test pages from the desktop. Those pages are on the HP website. Therefore, is the software installed there as well? I cannot print from any documents I have, e.g. Word, Excel, PDFs, etc.

Hi,

Please try

Click start > Devices and Printers

Right click your printer and select Set as default.

Otherwise

Download the following tool and run on your computer:

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL50849/mp-145514-4/HPPSdr.exe

or

 re-install software and driver.

Regards.
