Solved!

"HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

HP Recommended

i have been working on this for about 8 hours now and i finally give up. i can not get hp solution center to work. please help.

all in one is a hp photosmart d110a with wireless. os is windows 7 home premium 64.

i have already tried:

1. Type %temp% in the run field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

please help. this is very, very frustrating.

Hi alasdair,

Try installing this printer using USB cable, and let me know if you have the same issue?

Make sure Adobe Flash player is updated to the latest version on your system.

i am able to run solution center if i connect via usb but i do not want to connect by usb - i want to connect wirelessly. what's the point of a wireless printer if you have to use usb?

Hi alasdair,

How far is the printer from the wireless router?

Is there several walls or metal object between the printer and router?

The Screen shot you showed me appears to be related to the Adobe Flash player not being updated.

Try running the scrub steps you show in your first message, but this time make sure the printer is right next to the router, and you reboot the computer before attempting to reinstall the printer. Let me know what you find out:?

this can not be a connection issue - i can print to the printer perfectly well. i can ping the printer fine.

i have run through those steps - to the letter - more times than i care to remember and it's getting old. i have checked the version of flash i have installed and it's the latest.

i'll do it one more time before i throw this thing out the window 🙂

thanks

Hi alasdair,

The other option you have at this point would be to contact customer support, and with your approval they can log into the computer to see what is going on with the Solution Center when it is connected wirelessly. If you would like to contact support please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

i'll try to call. thanks.

ok, i ran through the scrub steps one more time and it still doesn't work.

ironically enough, i am able to scan from my macbook pro with no additional software whatsoever. it just works. but when i try to use the hp software on my hp pc to talk to this hp printer it doesn't work.

i'm not an apple fan boy - i'm a big fan of windows but my work bought me the macbook.

😞

thanks again

this just gets better an better. i can't even use the support forum on my windows pc anymore. any attempt to use it: login, etc. results in a "error 500 - internal server error".

my macbook pro, again, seems to have no problem with the forum software.

on topic, i ran through the scrub/reinstall process completely one more time and hp solution center is still not working.

i'll try calling support but, at this stage, i'm closer to just dumping the hp and trying somebody else. it shouldn't be this hard to get a scanner working...
