I was receiving a fax which failed due to comm error, we portion was received then tried to print. The printing failed and the printer now goes through a loop of trying to print and then resetting over and over. I've powered off and unplugged without any success. Is there some way of resetting the printer. I only have access through the IP or USB for 20 seconds before the reset begins again.

Try to perform a hard reset on the printer. Unplug everything from the back of the printer and the power cord from the wall. Leave it out for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
You can also perform a partial reset on the printer. Hold down the (3 and #) buttons at the same time and unplug the printer.
Here is a link that could help. You can try to update the firmware, also.
