Before I throw this thing out the window...I cannot turn off the double sided printing default in my Officejet 6830. It also defaults to legal sized paper.

All searches employ fixes I cannot find when clicking on the print command in  MS Word, among other programs. At this point, i'm either printing somewhere else, or one page at a time.

I also searched the HP programs in Applications, created a new default setting, and searched online. This should be intuitive and easily fixed but is not.

Hi! @Whimsy44, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand that you have issues printing double sided from your printer.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Please try the steps recommended below.

From the application used to print click the File menu, select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click Show Details to see all available settings.

Click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

Select Layout from the drop-down menu.

Set the Two-Sided option as Off.

Click the Presets menu, select Save Current Settings as Preset and complete the print job... the used preset will remain default till another preset will be used.

Let me know if this works!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
