runtime error

I get a runtime error by installing HP software for my printer HP PSC 1410. Some days ago the printer did not work. Installing the newest software gave me a runtime error from Microsoft Visual C++. What's wrong? Does any some know?

runtime error

Hi,
Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1.
The printer always did work well. But suddenly it stopped working. I don't know why. Trying installing the newest software from the HP side gave me an error;
Microsoft Visual C++
runtime library
Runtime error!
Program: J:\users\HugoHo~1\appdata\local\temp\72S627\setup.exe
this application has requested to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the application's support team for more information
My computer has dual boot, that's why W7 is installed on J:drive.
no blinking lights on the printer, he doesn't react at all when power is on.
I allready changed the usb cable and tried on another usb port.
My PSC 1410 printer works well on another computer.

Hi Hoofwijk,
Downloaded and extracted to your system:
- Type %temp% in the run field
- Highlight all the files, and then press delete on your keyboard. If you get message about a file being in use you will need to skip this file.
- Once you have deleted all the files in the temp folder reboot your computer
- Download the full feature software and drivers
- Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software.
- When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation
- Type %temp% in the run field
- Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
- Right click on the folder, and select Copy
- Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop.
- Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop
- Open folder Util
- Open folder CCC
- Run the L4uninstall.exe
- When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
- Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs
- Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
14. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.
Let me know if you are able to successfully install the software and driver, and are able to print & scan?

runtime error

Hi,
I tried to install the software like you wrote. All steps one by one. But no result.
There is no runtime error anymore, but in the installation program it asks me if it may uninstall "HP Photosmart, Officejet, PSC and Deskjet All-in-one driver software 8.0B". I click yes and than I become an error:
In the headline: "J:\usres\hugo hoofwijk\desktop\7zS3EA1\setup\..\setup\hppsc01.exe" -list p..(more I cannot read)
In the window: The system could not find the specified file. (I hope I translated it wright) When I click OK, the installation programm closes.
I allready saw that after all software should be uninstalled, that all-in-one driversoftware 8.0b stayed in the list of programms. I cannot remove the software at all.

Hi hugoHoofwijk,
It appears that you also have a 7z folder on your Desktop. Run the steps again in Message 4, and before attempting to reinstall the printer make sure that the 7z folder on the desktop is deleted, and the %temp% folder is cleaned out. Empty your recycle bin, and then reboot the computer before attempting to reinstall the printer.

Anyway, thank you for your support!

Hi hugoHoofwijk,
Completely shut off the computer for 1 to 2 minutes, and then once you have restarted the computer try setting the printer as default. Let me know what you find out?
