I used to work for HP but I saw the light and retired!

Printer Hint #1 - Always buy a printer with a display panel for easy configuration.
Printer Hint #2 - Always buy a printer with separate black and separate color cartridges.
Printer Hint #3 - Always buy a wireless printer with an Ethernet port for backup.
Special Hint: There is a 97.2% (and increasing) chance the information you seek is in the User Guide/Manual or on your printers HP Support Page. Remember, Google is your friend.

Re: scan to computer

What if I can't find the cd that came with the printer? I found a link on the website to download online. It appears to be live but doesn't go anywhere. Any suggestions?

Re: scan to computer

same problem here; the scan to computer function does not work. It used to, on my older MacBook, but since I have a new one it won't.
Tried uninstalling the printer, reinstalled it, updated firmware, reloaded the drivers, everything.

I'm getting pretty fed up with HP

Re: scan to computer

The scan to computer function does not work.

It used to, wikt my older MacBook Pro, but since I have a new one it doesn't.

I have updated the firmware, uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it. Uploaded the latest drivers, the works.

But no Joy.

It keeps giving the same message, unable to communicate with the device.

I'm getting fed up up with HP.  Why is this so difficult, do I have to be a computer nerd to operate e simple scanner/printer?

Hi there,

I understand you're having an issue scanning from your printer to your Mac. I'm sorry to hear you've been having difficulty, but I will do my best to help.

I just need to ask a few questions to help you better.

Which printer are you using? Click here to get help finding the right numbers.

Which version of Mac do you currently have? Click here to get helping finding out.

Are you connected with a USB cable, or is it wireless?

Once I have this information I should be able to help better!
