Hi @audball1

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that your Mac is not saving the scans in color from your HP Envy 120 Printer. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

I would try the steps within this guide, HP Printers - How to Scan to a Mac (OS X).

Use HP Scan

If you have the HP software installed on your Mac, use HP Scan to scan, edit, and print your photos or documents.

In general, use HP Scan software to scan a photo or document when you need to adjust the color and resolution, crop, or remove red eye in photos or documents.

View, modify, and save scan settings, then scan the photo or document.
  1. Load a document or photo onto the scanner glass.
  2. Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Hewlett-Packard, then double-click the HP Scan icon.
  3. Click Scan in the upper right corner of the window.
  4. Click the Down arrow () to view and change any scan settings.
  5. Click on Show Details to make any changes to the Presets. Look for Mode and select Color.
  6. To save any scan settings for a future scan job, click the pop-up menu next to Presets, click Save as, name the new preset, then click OK.
  7. Click Continue to start the scan.
  8. When the scan completes, click Done.
  9. To edit the scanned item, use the tools at the bottom of the window, then click Send to save it to a folder on your computer or to print the item.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck! 🙂
