Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

the serial number on the printer (back of it) is different from the serial number shown in the tool box device information/

HP support  request a serial number to connect but none of serial numbers are recognized.

1.which number is the best?

2.do I have to change that number anywhere else in the settins.?

As I Understand the serial number is different in two spots within the printer,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution: 

Is there a particular reason you are looking for this peculiar number? 😉

 

I've confirmed with the printer experts and the details imprinted on the printer is the correct information,

That said, the other serial number is generic numbers based on the firmware installed.
