dear community,

I use HP printers all my working life.

Some month ago, suddenly the magenty (not empty) seemed to stop printing.

Also the Printerstatusrepoert and printerquality report printed magenta in a kind of grey and yellow from thap point greenish.

No alarms at all.

At that point of disruption, the magenta and black was original HP but yellow and cyan were replacements, but working fine for some months already.

My suspicion was a software update of HP against secondary refills? but to my knowledge there was not a major update.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards Leo [Personal Information Removed]

And no there was no software or firmware change for the 6700 against refills.  Refill all you want.

Thanks Provost,

the page you suggested is what I already found.

The printerstatusreport (started from the printerpanel)

still gives the four columns per ink cartidge:

  • Magenta, printed grey and 20% full, HP original
  • Cyan, printed cyan and 50% full, cheap
  • Yellow, printed greenish yellow it seems, not the pure ink color and 30% full, cheap
  • black, printed black and 80% full.HP original

replacing magenta did not help,

stop/strt the printer, reinstall on my computer,

Problem occurred some six weeks ago, first assuming just an empty cartridge.

So I am close to giving up and buy an Epson.

have a nice day Leo
