i am receiving an error message "unable to communicate with printer" but the document is printing. i ran the print and scan doctor and it said everything was working porperly but when i printed the test page it came up with the error message again but printed. i have connected it to the wireless network and with that as the default it will print just slow. our internet is not reliable and i want to be able to use it without being connected to the wireless router.  note: the router is approx. 200ft away so connecting it with ethernet is not an option. thanks

Hi @dcampbell0029,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you get an error message "unable to communicate with printer" but the document gets printed on your HP OfficeJet 8702 All-in-One Printer.

This issue could occur if the network connection is not stable.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
