unable to start photosmart with desktop icon

HP Recommended

When I try to start HP Photosmart 5520 series from the desktop icon, it takes a hit and then goes away.

Will not open. Can go to program files and open each task individually

Hi,

 

My suggestion: remove the existing icon on desktop and create a new one by:

 

Click Start > All Programs > HP > [Your Printer]

Right click the printer and Click send to Desktop.

All I could get to come up was a scan icon.  The normal icon and printer functions are not there.

I can get the HP Photosmart icon on the browser but when I click the proccessor takes a hit but nothing happens after that.

I have already did a uninstall and re-installed  with the HP install disc and it did not put the icon back on the browser and 

does the same thing.
