why doesnt ink level show when printing?

every printer i have had before shows the ink level when i am printing,but this 1510 all in one does not,the only way i can see my ink levels is when i go into the devices and printers on my start menu,i have the hp deskjet 1510 all in one,i have windows 7.

I see you are having issues with your ink levels.  I would like to help.

 

If you launch your HP Printer Assistant, does it display the ink levels?  I am including a document on Using the HP Printer Assistant.
