wireless connection from laptop to printer w/o a router

I can't seem to make this connection work with my HP 8500A Plus and window based laptop

You printer should be broadcasting a signal that starts with "HP....".  If you scan for available networks your PC should see it.  Make sure that your  PC has 'ad-hoc' networking enabled.  Tell me what version of Windows and I can help.


If that does not work, on the printer go to Setup > Network > Reset Network Defaults and try again.
