If you have an older Laserjet printer, simply labelled Laserjet on the front panel, in contrast to new models that will be called Laserjet Pro or Laserjet Enterprise, Laserjet Managed or Pagewide.
Here is the latest list of supported older Laserjet printers and instructions on drivers to use for these printers.

Hi I have a LaserJet CP1025 Colour I recently bought a Mini Mac M1 on Big Sur I cannot get the HP printer working, is there a driver i can download to reset it up, I downloaded a Driver and did the uninstall and nothing is now working?
hi I just got an Officejet pro 9018. when I print it sounds like something is getting hung up and the printing is kinda choppy sounding. is this normal?
@LouLou15- please download and install below drivers:https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?locale=en_US
Make sure the printer is connected and Ready, open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, then press the plus sign.
select your printer and make sure you select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu and try printing.
Thank you I have I have downloaded you link the printer is there but it is still saying Filter failed?
Before you say it the it is saying with a green dot printer is idle so it recognises it.
I have cancelled it and then tried printing again and now the slider is just bouncing backwards and forwards saying looking for printer, it says that it is offline and the printer in preferences dot goes yellow saying in use but the queue box says offline even though it was on line?.
What is your exact printer model @LouLou15? is it a CP1025a (USB only) or the CP1025nw (USB and Network) model?
@Shlomil The printer is a LaserJet CP1025nw Color I have it plugged into the route with an ethernet cable, as before I got my New Mini Mac M1 software is macOS Big Sur Version 11.1
@Shlomil Sorry yes it is USB and network
It is an iMac and it is on a network
I have and hp1102W
I solved by using the old W7 Wireless configuration software thats sets the printer wifi parameters.
Once I set the wifi parameters of the printer, it started to be recognized by MAC.
What really infuriated me was the advise from the HP Support centre on Messenger
"The printer is an old model and does not have any latest firmware for BiG SUR"
"This in an obsolete unit"
"and might contact HP Online store in your country"
Why would I need and new Firmware? The current one is airPrint compatible... This HP not doing their job....
Shame on HP.
