Hi @SophieAlix111

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Since your HP Officejet Pro 6830 has been stored for years, the false paper jam error could be caused by dust buildup, misaligned sensors, or firmware issues. Here’s how to troubleshoot:

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Jammed Paper

  • Open the output tray, input tray, ink cartridge access area, and automatic document feeder.
  • Remove any tiny paper fragments that might be triggering the sensor.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Dust and debris can accumulate over time, causing false errors.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the rollers.

Update Printer Firmware

Reset the Printer

  • If the error persists, perform a semi-full reset (HP support can provide instructions).

Try these steps, and if the issue persists, a local repair service might be the best option! 🚀
