After initially running out of paper, I am getting error code: 0x6100004a on my HP 6958, even after doing all the recommended things to solve the problem (taking out the ink cartridges, un plugging,  turning the power on and off, putting the cartridges back in, etc). Multiple times. There is no paper jam.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 

I understand you are getting an error message on your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

We need to perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

 

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. 

 

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer. 

 

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
