Hi @JimSoul ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the 0xc19a0027 error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 typically indicates a printhead or ink system failure. Since you've already rebooted, replaced the cartridges, updated the firmware, and checked the power supply, here are some additional steps to try:

1. Hard Reset the Printer

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. While powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait 5-10 minutes (this helps drain residual power).
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then into the printer.
  6. Turn the printer on and check if the error persists.

2. Clean the Printhead Manually

Since this error is often related to the printhead, cleaning it may help:

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges and place them on a clean paper towel.
  3. Locate the printhead and gently wipe the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
  4. Dry the contacts with another lint-free cloth.
  5. Reinstall the ink cartridges and restart the printer.

3. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

If the error persists, reset the printer to factory settings:

  1. Open the printer control panel.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore.
  3. Select Restore Factory Defaults.
  4. Restart the printer and check if the issue is resolved.

4. Reseat or Replace the Printhead

If none of the above works, the printhead might be faulty. The HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 has a removable printhead, and you may be able to reseat or replace it:

  1. Open the printer lid and wait for the printhead carriage to stop moving.
  2. Lift the printhead latch and gently remove the printhead.
  3. Clean the gold contact points on the printhead and inside the printer.
  4. Reseat the printhead securely and lock the latch.
  5. Reinstall the cartridges and restart the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
