When I print a one-page word document, the printer produces a blank page

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Try / Consider

Export the Word document to PDF

Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader -

Check the number of pages in the document

Set the page to print at Page 1

Print the "current" page

General Example - PDF Print - Reader - Main Menu and Properties

Check / Adjust Pages to Print

Print All

or

Set preview page (slider arrows) to Page 1 and print Current View

PDF_Reader_Main_Menu_Border_7PDF_Reader_Main_Menu_Border_7

What?

Word documents include internal structures, possible a page feed or page break that might not show up until you print the file.

What else?

If it is more than one document, that is, all your Word documents are printing with a leading blank page, check the Normal.dot template for errors or possible changes to the original template.

All Word documents?  Microsoft Office Repair / reload of Office does not work (or is not possible) --

You might also consider uninstalling / reinstalling the full driver printer software.

Thanks for your reply.

After faffing around some more including reinstalling driver (again) and rebooting laptop several times the problem has been resolved.

You are welcome.

Makes sense --

When in doubt - Reboot > Reload the software.

Happy Printing.

Happy New Year 2025!
