After reading other solutions on this I wasted 2 hours replacing the fuser and the transfer belt with no success. 

After all that I did this and it fixed the problem.  I took a piece of cardstock (fairly thick) took the paper tray out and forced the cardstock up through the paper path coming out in the back door area.  I had to tip the printer up against its back to get the cardstock started in the right slot to feed it.  pulled it all the way through out the back door and the jam cleared. Couldn't believe it.  There is a switch in that corner where it feeds out of the tray that must get stuck backward or something and just needs to be pushed back into the right position.  I did this on 2 different machines and it worked on both.
