Although I have 2-sided printing turned OFF, my printer keeps printing 2-sided. I have checked the option is off before pressing print, but it still does its. Any ideas/suggestions?

Hi @Donkeyshed,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Printer Settings via Printer Control Panel

Sometimes, the printer's settings can override those set from your computer.

  • Access the Printer Settings:
    • Go to your printer’s control panel (on the printer itself).
    • Look for any print settings or "Advanced Settings" related to double-sided printing (e.g., duplex printing) and ensure it's disabled.
    • Try printing a test page after changing these settings.

Update Printer Drivers

Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause unexpected behavior like this.

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your HP Envy 7200 model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
  • Restart your computer and try printing again.

Check Printer Preferences on the Computer

Sometimes, the settings in your print dialog might not be correctly applied.

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP Envy 7200 and select Printer Properties.
  • Go to the Preferences tab.
  • Ensure that the option for 2-sided or Duplex Printing is set to Off. Even if it's off in the print dialog, it’s worth verifying here too.

Check for Printer Software Conflicts

If you have multiple print software or utilities (like HP Smart), it might be overriding the settings.

  • Try printing from the HP Smart App if you're using it, and ensure duplex printing is turned off there as well.
  • If you have any third-party printer management software installed, check its settings to ensure it’s not forcing duplex printing.

Reset Printer Settings to Default

If nothing works, try resetting the printer’s settings to default.

  • Go to the printer’s Settings menu.
  • Look for an option to reset the printer to factory settings.
  • After the reset, try printing again and make sure the duplex printing option is disabled.
