Hello,

My printer is connected wirelessly to my Mac. Everytime I try to print a document, the printer starts printing normally, then stops about a third of the way through the 1st page, spits the page out as if it had finished and then nothing.

My Wifi router is a Freebox.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You are welcome. I appreciate you taking your valuable time to troubleshoot. 🙂

Please check if the printer can make a copy without any problems. If copy works fine then the printer hardware should be fine. If copy works fine then you may try to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers.

If printer acts the same way while copying then let me know. Cheers! 🙂

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP Deskjet 3050A e-All-in-One Printer - J611 and every time you try to print a document, the printer starts printing normally, then stops about a third of the way on the 1st page, then spits the page out as if it had finished.

I would like to know if any changes took place on the printer after which this issue may have started. Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
  • Please try to make a copy from te printer and check the results. If the copy is fine then please continue with the below steps.

I suggest you to reset the printing system in Mac by viewing this video: http://hp.care/2f9ksug.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. All the best! 🙂

Hi thanks for your help. I followed your steps, including resetting the printing system, but unfortunately still have the same problem: the printer starts printing part of the page, then stops and releases the page. I then tried to print another document nevertheless, but the printer dialog box says "printer not responding", and nothing is happening.

Do you have another idea?

Thanks

Max

Hi Kazi,

Yes it's working now, thanks! It seems the problem was when I added the printer and its driver, "use Airplay" was selected by default; I changed it to "use hp3050a j611", and now it's fine.

Thanks again,

Max
