3830 Attention Required plus Black and White

I have 2 issues with my 3830. Firstly I cannot print in that it just tells me action is required. Troubleshooter on Windows 10 finds nothing. I've tried several solutions found on here including manually setting up the TCP/IP but none work. The TCP/IP solution almost works but after a few seconds Windows 10 reverts back to the WSD port as the one with the check in the box. I cannot even delete this port to prevent this from happening. Yes I am pressing apply. *EDIT* I can use the TCP/IP solution only if I keep the Printer Properties network dialogue box open on screen. If I close it and go back the port reverts back to WSD. This is NOT a solution I can use as there is no way I can expect my wife and kids to know how to even get to this dialogue box.

 

Secondly I can't print in colour from Windows 10. Everything is black and white and has been since last year. This is not PC related as I now have a totally new PC. It's Windows 10 related...and no it's not because I've set it to greyscale.

 

I can print normally and in colour from my phone.

 

From reading a LOT about this online I find it totally and utterly inexcusable that even after 3 years this issue has not been solved. Why are your Windows drivers not working correctly?

 

I pay for Instant Ink but now without a properly functioning printer I will have to cancel and look for a solution from another printer manufacturer unless this is resolved fast.

 

So you need to fix both my issues. I need to print in colour from Windows 10 and the printer actually needs to print!

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

 

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.
