I have  a

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276  and it was a supposedly working laser printer.

But I printed about 10 pages and I am getting a 50.2 fuser error. I have replaced the fuser with a new

unit and the error came back almost immediately. Then I read that if the fuser replacement didnt fix it then most likely it was the Low Voltage Power supply. I replaced that and it did print quite a few pages and then the error came back.  I am getting tired of replacing apparently good parts and not getting it to work.

Does anyone have any other ideas ? There is the high

voltage board that powers the fuser, but no one is saying that may be the part.

Any help would be appreciated to get this back on line.

Hi @DRT1200,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can feel your frustration. You’ve already replaced the fuser and the low-voltage power supply, and the error keeps coming back. The 50.2 Fuser Error on HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276 is one of those stubborn issues that usually points to a power delivery or heating problem, but let’s break it down carefully.

What 50.2 Fuser Error Means

It indicates the fuser is not heating to the correct temperature within the expected time. Common causes:

  • Faulty fuser unit (even new ones can be defective).
  • Power supply issues (low or unstable voltage).
  • DC controller or high-voltage power board failure.
  • Environmental factors (cold room, unstable AC power).

You’ve Already Tried

✔ Replaced fuser
✔ Replaced low-voltage power supply
✔ Printed a few pages before the error returned → suggests intermittent power or control issue.

Next Steps Before Spending More

  1. Check Wall Power
    • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (no surge protector or UPS).
    • Ensure stable voltage (LaserJets need consistent power).

  2. Inspect DC Controller & High-Voltage Power Board
    • The DC controller regulates fuser power. If it’s failing, the error recurs after short use.
    • The high-voltage board is less common but can cause intermittent heating issues.

  3. Firmware Update
  4. Cold Reset
    • Perform a factory reset to clear any corrupted settings:
      • Power off → Hold OK + Cancel → Power on → Release when “Permanent Storage Init” appears.

  5. Check Fuser Seating
    • Ensure the new fuser is fully locked in place, and the connectors are clean.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thanks for your quick response!

Sorry, but my machine doesn't seem to have the options you are  speaking about.

Power off → Hold OK + Cancel → Power on → Release when “Permanent Storage Init” appears.

My machine has on a round power  button which will bring up the conrol screen after about 30sec of

initializing. There is no cancel or Ok button on the screen, unless I am just not seeing it.

I did look closely at the name on the front and it has a "nw" behind the 276. I m not sure if that means

something as far as what we are talking about.
