5258 printer, after changing cartridge only printing background

Just changed the color cartridge, black appears low. Printed test page ok. Tried to print an online document and it only printed the background of the document. Also printed a copy from the copier ok.

@Mike3570, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Have you tried printing any other documents and check if the issue persists?

If the black ink cartridge is low/empty, kindly replace it for better print quality.

On the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon to display the current estimated ink levels.

 

Update the printer firmware

Go to Setup > Tools > Update the printer

 

Check for any update on the iOS device

Go to Settings > General > Update the software

 

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report from the printer control panel, and then evaluate the results.

  1. Load the printer with plain white paper.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .

  3. Touch Tools.

  4. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report. Check for any defects.
