Printer is displaying an error message 59.CO.   I googled it and already tried removing all toners, powering off and on and installing toners one by one closing the door every time I install one but it didn't work.  Error is not gone.  All toners are HP genuine toners, there's no generic toner being used.  Is there another way to fix this?  If not, and if I have to to take it to a technician to repair it, would it be worth it?  Or is it better to buy a new one.  My printer is only 6 years old.

Hi @glow4444,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

This error typically indicates a problem with the Internal Motor or ITB (Intermediate Transfer Belt), often related to: A stuck or seized transfer belt, or A faulty toner motor (ITB motor), which is harder to fix without disassembly.

You’ve already tried removing and reinstalling the toner cartridges—this is great and rules out simple toner detection issues.

What You Can Try Next (If You Haven’t Already):

  1. Check for Obstructions Inside
Open the cartridge access door and gently inspect the area around the transfer belt for:
    • Jammed pieces of paper, toner dust buildup, or foreign objects that might block the rotation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for letting me know. Please try the steps shared below.

  • Power cycling the printer
  • Removing and reinstalling all genuine HP toner cartridges individually
Good steps — this rules out cartridge recognition as the issue.

Next Steps You Can Try:

1. Gently Reposition the Transfer Belt (ITB)

  • This component may have slipped out of place. Unfortunately, accessing it often requires removing the toner access panel or side panel, which is not officially user-serviceable.
  • If you’re comfortable, visually inspect the transfer belt area for any signs of misalignment, torn belt, or debris.

2. Check Internal Paper Path & Gears

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the toner access door and check for any jammed bits of paper, torn labels, or loose gears near the toner bays or internal rollers.
  • If the belt or gear is blocked or slipping, the printer will trigger a 59.C0 error.

3. Firmware Update

  • Visit support.hp.com to check for any firmware updates specific to your printer model.
  • Occasionally, firmware can improve error detection sensitivity and performance.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
