Have an M476nw which is throwing a 59.0240 (Transfer alientation failure) error.
Have stripped unit down and inserted paper into the solenoid as suggested elsewhere but made no difference.
Sometimes upon boot the printer displays an “Initializing” message and then works fine with no error, other times it boots without that and then hits the error. This leads me to believe that it might be more of a firmware issue rather than a hardware one.
However, diagnostics report shows: Register 02 A-I = all zeros, Register 04 A-I = all zeros

Sorry to hear that the solenoid trick did not resolve your issue. What is the page count on the printer. Could be that the transfer belt is not rotating properly due to age. The only other thing might be the alienation motor.

Have tried to update the DC Controller firmware with 59.F0_DCCV1_51.prn but this doesn't seem to get applied:
After installation printer just sits at 59.F0 error screen and doesn't ever reboot. However from then on when it starts-up it stays at 'initializing' and never continues. Can sove this by reseting NVRAM but DC Controller firmware is not updated.
Also does anyone know where the SR9 sensor is on this printer as I would like to check that? However I can't find any diagnostics screen which displays any manual sensor tests.
