Hi @stevz0rz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding !

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The 59.co error on your HP LaserJet MFP M148dw indicates a fuser error, which typically happens when the printer is unable to properly heat up or maintain the necessary temperature for printing. Since you've already tried power cycling and replacing the toner, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

1. Check for Overheating

The fuser is responsible for applying heat to bond the toner to the paper. If it overheats or there’s an issue with its temperature regulation, it can trigger the error.

  • Let the printer cool down for 15-20 minutes if it was recently used. Overheating can cause temporary issues.
  • Check the printer's surroundings to make sure it’s in a well-ventilated area. Poor airflow can lead to overheating.

2. Inspect the Fuser

The fuser may be malfunctioning, either due to wear and tear or a fault with its components.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer's access panel and locate the fuser (usually near the toner cartridge or paper output area).
  • Look for any visible damage such as blackening, worn-out components, or obstruction inside the fuser area.
  • If you notice any significant damage, the fuser may need to be replaced.

3. Reset the Printer to Clear Error Code

Sometimes, resetting the printer can help clear the error code.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the printer from the power source.
  3. Wait for about 30 minutes to allow the fuser and internal components to cool down.
  4. Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and check if the error persists.

4. Check the Toner Cartridge

A faulty or improperly seated toner cartridge can also cause printing issues, although the 59.co error is typically related to the fuser.

  • Remove the toner cartridge again and ensure it's seated correctly.
  • Inspect the toner cartridge for any damage or leaking toner that could be affecting the printer's functions.
  • Replace the toner if you suspect it’s faulty.

5. Update Printer Firmware

In some cases, firmware issues can trigger error codes, and an update may resolve the problem.

  1. Go to the HP website and check for the latest firmware for your HP LaserJet MFP M148dw.
  2. If there is an update, download it and follow the instructions to update the printer’s firmware.

6. Perform a Hard Reset

A more thorough reset can sometimes resolve persistent errors.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Hold the power button for 15-30 seconds, then release it.
  3. Wait a few moments, then turn the printer back on and check for the error.

Let me know how it goes, and I can guide you further if needed! 😊
