HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This mfp suddenly gave a 59.co error after installing a new toner cartridge. To troubleshoot,  I removed the cartridge and powered on the printer and there was no error, but once I install the cartridge it will turn for a few seconds and the error shows up again.

I even tried manually turning the gear on the side of the cartridge and it turns just fine. I removed the right cover to observe the drive assembly and everything was turning and functioning. Maybe I missed a crucial step while troubleshooting or maybe the cartridge is indeed faulty? Even though it's a new cartridge I find it hard to believe it would cause this error.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance:)

If you install the original cartridge does the printer work? If the error appeared after replacing the cartridge in most cases it is going to be an issue with the toner.

I have already discarded the original cartridge by the way. I never thought of keeping ones I've used up. Now that you mention it, you might be right. I think I'll just buy another cartridge to confirm my suspicions. Thanks for responding though😃
