Hi @cooldog1

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the Printer: Turn off the printer and open the access door to the ink cartridge area.
  • Inspect for Jammed Paper: Carefully look for any jammed paper or obstructions. Remove any visible jammed paper gently to avoid tearing.
  • Check the Output Tray: Also check the output tray for any paper that may have gotten stuck.

2. Clear the Paper Path:

  • Check Rollers: Examine the rollers for any debris or paper dust. Wipe them gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Remove Any Obstructions: Make sure there’s nothing blocking the paper path inside the printer.

3. Check Paper Loading:

  • Verify Paper Type and Size: Ensure you are using the correct type and size of paper, and that it is loaded properly in the input tray.
  • Adjust Guides: Make sure the paper guides in the tray are snug against the paper without bending it.

4. Reset the Printer:

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

5. Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinstall them if necessary.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
