8025 Deskjet Pro Printing and Scanning works, but then lights flash, but there is no error code.

This 8025 officejet pro will scan and print just fine, but it will lock up several times per day with power leds flashing and alternating with the back, home, and help indicators on touchscreen flashing.  Recycling power and removing power cord and replugging will clear the issue, but it will randomly occur again sometime after I have successfully printed or scanned.  I can't find any similar issues in manual or community forum .  I am using a Mac with 10.14.6, or iPhone 12 max pro for printing.  The issue occurs even if computers or phones are not communicating with printer.  It has worked fine until the newest HP Smart Software was installed.

I'd like to help!

Let's try a power reset on the printer

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
