HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone. I generally have loved my LaserJet 9025 printer enough to have three of them in different places. Unfortunately, for the last two months or so, one of them has been spitting out pages that are essentially blank, except for bits and pieces of what appeared to be Computer code at the top. This is quite an annoyance, not to mention a waste of paper. I have tried a semi full reset but that did not solve the problem. I am unable to do a complete reset because I can’t find that function in the setup menu but I’m wondering whether it might have something to do with HP Smart. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @Certils

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your LaserJet 9025 is printing pages with bits of computer code, it could be due to a few reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve this issue:

1. Check Print Jobs

  • Make sure there are no corrupted print jobs in the queue:
    1. Open Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
    2. Find your LaserJet 9025, right-click, and select See what's printing (Windows) or click on the printer and select Open Print Queue (Mac).
    3. Cancel any print jobs that look suspicious or that you did not initiate.

2. Update Printer Firmware

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware:
    1. Go to the HP support website.
    2. Search for your printer model and check for any firmware updates.
    3. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.

3. Check HP Smart Settings

  • If you suspect the issue is related to HP Smart, you can try:
    1. Uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app on your device.
    2. Checking for any pending updates for the HP Smart app.
    3. Reviewing the settings in the app to ensure nothing is set to print automatically.

4. Print a Configuration Page

  • Printing a configuration page can help diagnose issues:
    1. From the printer's control panel, navigate to Reports or Information.
    2. Select Print Configuration Page and check for any irregularities.

5. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults

  • While you mentioned difficulty finding the complete reset option, you can typically reset to factory settings by:
    1. Pressing the Home button on the printer's control panel.
    2. Navigating to Setup (gear icon) > Service > Restore Defaults or Reset All Settings. This may vary slightly depending on the firmware version.

If you cannot find this option, consult the user manual specific to your LaserJet 9025 or check the HP support website for guidance.

6. Check Connection Settings

  • If your printer is connected via network or USB, ensure that the connection is stable and functioning correctly:
    • Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s control panel to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
