Hi @Wildcats74,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Paper Guides Adjustment: Ensure that the paper-width guides in the input tray are properly adjusted. They should be snug against the paper but not too tight, as this could prevent the paper from feeding properly. Adjust the guides to align correctly with the size of paper you are using.

Foreign Objects: Check for any foreign objects or debris in the tray that might be preventing the guides from moving freely. Even small obstructions can cause the guides to not fit correctly.

Tray Mechanism Issues: There may be an issue with the tray mechanism itself. Inspect the tray for any physical damage or misalignment that could be affecting the guide movement.

Paper Type and Quality: Make sure you are using paper that meets HP's specifications for the printer model. Paper that is too thick, curled, or damaged can prevent proper tray alignment.

Tray Configuration: Verify that the tray is configured correctly for the paper size via the printer settings. Check the control panel or Embedded Web Server settings to ensure the correct paper size and type are selected.

Inspect Separation Pad and Pick Roller: Check the condition of the separation pad and pick roller. If they are worn or dirty, they may need cleaning or replacement.

I hope this helps.
