HP Officejet Pro 9010 Series. All printing stops with code B3414FZD on printer screen. Can not be cleared and printer can only be shutdown by unplugging. Firmware is current and up-to-date. Printing from both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11 Pro.

Hi @Joe-D1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code B3414FZD on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 Series indicates a hardware issue, often related to a component inside the printer. Since you mentioned that the firmware is up-to-date and you've already tried to troubleshoot the issue by unplugging the printer, here are some additional steps you can try.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Ensure there are no paper jams inside the printer. Even small bits of paper can cause errors.
Inspect the Printhead and Cartridges:
- Remove and reseat the printhead and ink cartridges. Ensure that they are properly installed and not clogged.
Clean the Printer:
- Dust or debris inside the printer can sometimes cause errors. Gently clean the interior of the printer, especially around the printhead and paper feed areas.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
Check for Updates or Patches:
- Although you mentioned that the firmware is current, double-check for any new patches or updates that might not have been applied.
Given that the issue prevents printing and requires a complete power cycle, it might be related to a more serious hardware fault.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

i tried all the suggestions. The only think that works is pulling the plug, waiting 20 seconds, then plug it back in. Sometimes it will restart and I can print. Other times it fails to initialize and I have to repeat the procedure (sometimes several times). Eventual it will restart. I note also that when the printer goes to sleep most times it will not come back online unless I unplug it (same as above). I do note that several others have had this problem and no solution other than unplugging was found. Any further information on this would be helpful. I really do not want to get rid of this printer since when it works it is great.
Thank you.
