I have an HP LaserJetRPO  CM1415fnw printer.  When I send a 1-page document to the printer, it says low memory and can't print the job.  I'm sure it has sufficient memory based on past usage.  Is there a way (or need) to purge the memory?  Or is there another known way to fix this?

Hi @MRE11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The "Low Memory" error on the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw indicates that the printer does not have enough memory to complete the print job. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:

Reduce Print Quality:

  • Try reducing the print quality in the printer settings. This will reduce the amount of memory required for each page.
  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw printer and select "Printing Preferences."
  • Look for an option to reduce the print quality or DPI (dots per inch) and select a lower setting.

Print in Grayscale:

  • Printing in color requires more memory than printing in black and white. Try printing your document in grayscale to reduce the memory usage.
  • In the printer settings, look for an option to print in grayscale or black and white.

Print in Batches:

  • If possible, divide your print job into smaller batches and print them separately. This can help reduce the memory requirements for each print job.

Upgrade Printer Memory (if possible):

  • Some printers allow you to upgrade the memory. Check the specifications of your HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw to see if memory upgrades are supported and available. Click here for the user manual and search for specifications. However, it shows. (MAXIMUM/STANDARD MEMORY 160 MB)

Restart Printer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart of the printer can resolve temporary memory issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact HP phone support for further info, they will help with remote assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
