HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer

All the lights are blinking. I do not see any paper jammed. I am unable to move my cartridges to the middle so I can take them out and put them back. I do not see any paper jammed near the cartridges. I am out of solutions on what to do.

Hi @vmcwhirt

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a situation where all the lights on your printer are blinking, and you can't even move the cartridges to the middle to remove and reset them. This can be frustrating, but let's walk through a few troubleshooting steps that can help resolve this issue.

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can often resolve errors when lights are blinking and the printer is unresponsive. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute to allow the printer’s internal system to reset.
  4. After waiting, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

This can sometimes clear minor glitches and allow the printer to resume normal operation.

Step 2: Check for Paper Jams Again (In Hard-to-Reach Areas)

Even though you mentioned that there is no paper jam near the cartridges, there may be a jam in a less obvious area.

  1. Check the input tray and the output tray once again to ensure no small pieces of paper are caught.
  2. Open the rear access door (if your printer has one) and look inside. Sometimes paper can get jammed in the back.
  3. Try using a flashlight to help you see into the nooks and crannies of the printer.

Step 3: Move the Cartridges Manually

If the printer is still stuck and you cannot move the cartridges, the printer’s motor may be stuck or frozen. You can gently move the cartridges by hand to try to get them into the middle position:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Open the printer cover to expose the cartridges.
  3. Carefully try to move the cartridges by hand. Don’t force them, but gently nudge them to the middle of the printer, so you can access and remove them.
  4. If the cartridges move but feel stiff, there could be an obstruction inside the printer that’s blocking them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
