Hi @cherylwall,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If all the lights on your HP Envy 6400 series printer are flashing and it won’t print, it could indicate a problem with the printer’s hardware, connectivity, or an internal issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.:
  • Leave the printer unplugged for about 60 seconds to allow any residual power to drain.

Reconnect and Power On:

  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer’s paper tray and look for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Carefully remove any stuck paper or debris.
  • Ensure the output tray is not full or obstructed.

3. Check Printer Cartridges

  • Verify that the cartridges are properly installed and seated.
  • Remove the cartridges and then reinstall them, ensuring they click into place securely.
  • Check if any cartridges are empty or damaged and replace them if necessary.

4. Check for Connectivity Issues

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network if it’s a wireless model.
  • Go to the printer’s network settings and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network if needed.

Check for Ethernet Connection:

  • If using a wired connection, ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected.

5. Perform Printer Self-Test

  • Check if the printer can print a self-test or diagnostic page. This option is often available in the printer’s settings or maintenance menu.:
  • Refer to the printer’s manual for specific instructions on printing a self-test page or performing diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
