HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

All print has faded, even color which I rarely even use. The black cartridge is also fairly new. Cleaned twice. Didn't help.

Hi @jollyjean,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, but let's try a few more things to see if we can resolve the issue.

  • Check Ink Levels: Make sure your cartridges have enough ink. Sometimes, even new cartridges can be defective or run out quickly.
  • Alignment: Perform a print head alignment. This ensures that the printer is properly placing ink on the page. You can usually find this option in the printer settings or maintenance menu.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues.
  • Check Paper and Settings: Ensure that you're using the correct paper type and settings for your print job. Using the wrong settings can result in poor print quality.
  • Try a Different Cartridge: Even if the black cartridge is fairly new, it's possible that it's defective. Try replacing it with a different one to see if that resolves the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
